About Our Client

Our client is a leading resource development company focused on sustainable and innovative extraction practices, they have offices globally in Asia, USA, Europe and Africa

They are looking for a Legal Counsel for their Commodity Trading arm, to be based in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Job Description

  • Provides comprehensive legal counsel and support across a wide range of business activities, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
  • Advising on regulatory matters and transaction documents, understanding and mitigating risks in energy trading (market, operational, etc.)
  • Reviewing and negotiating various contracts (trading, investment, sale/purchase), handling legal agreements.
  • Liaising with internal/external stakeholders and regulatory bodies on legal and compliance issues.

The Successful Applicant

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification
  • Minimum 3 PQE in a practice firm or in-house setting is required, with a strong preference for candidates possessing experience in commodity, coal, steel, oil, and gas industries.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain composure while responding to changing circumstances and tight timelines is crucial.
