They are at the forefront of innovation, particularly in sustainable solutions like hydrogen, contributing to a more environmentally responsible future.They are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel.Job DescriptionReporting to General Manager and General Counsel.Strategic Legal Counsel and Risk Management:Serve as a key advisor to Business Units and Entity Management on overall legal and regulatory risk management. This includes identifying, analyzing, and mitigating various risks, providing timely updates, and offering reliable counsel for informed decision-making.Act as a key member of the Entity Management team, providing clear visibility of legal and business risks and implementing effective mitigation measures.Provide high-quality counsel on the legal landscape of the country, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.Contract Management and Project Support:Provide comprehensive legal support on contracts and project management. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts with customers, vendors, and business partners.Manage the RFQ process, create deviations, and oversee contractual and legal risks in collaboration with Business Units and Procurement teams.Maintain meticulous record-keeping for all commercial contracts with clients and suppliers.Establish and implement a robust contract management procedure, including checklists, filing, and ongoing management.Provide expertise to the Business Units and Management in drafting, formatting and negotiating contracts.Contributes to the establishment of contractual policy and identifies risksCorporate Governance and Compliance:Define and implement a robust corporate governance system, including periodic board and committee meetings, agenda management, and fulfillment of statutory, Sapin II, and Group guideline requirements.Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and update documentation accordingly.Checks that files comply with Group policy and with laws, regulations and case law.Special Projects and Litigation:Manage special requirements for business growth, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and divestments.Defend potential claims, manage recoveries, and handle litigation or arbitration matters.Is the main point of contact for the Legal Services Department and the Intellectual Property Department at Head Office.Internal Collaboration and Training:Collaborate closely with stakeholders and divisions, including HR, Finance, Tax, Insurance, Procurement, and IT, providing legal support on various issues.Advise and support Commercial teams on long-term supply contracts, engineering and construction agreements, procurement, power, land, competition, employment, and whistleblowing matters.Advise and support HR and Internal Control on whistleblowing matters and investigations.Conduct training for Company Directors and employees on specialist topics such as anti-trust, anti-bribery, and procurement.Raises awareness and provides training on legal and contractual issues to the various people he/she works with.External Counsel and Group Liaison:Manage and work closely with external counsel.Work closely with Group Legal on specialist topics such as competition, intellectual property, and compliance matters.Be the main point of contact of a dedicated department (eg: finance) on all legal issues related to its activities.The Successful ApplicantAdmission to the Singapore bar, alongside an LLB (Honours) degree from a well-regarded universityOver 12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in energy or chemicals industries.Effectively manage stakeholders.Ability to work collaboratively and independently at the same timeEquipped with strong analytical and communication skillsWhat's on OfferAdvance your career with opportunities for growth and development into a people management role in a dynamic, international environment, contributing to meaningful solutions that impact lives worldwide.ContactCeleste Goh (Lic No: R1104095 / EA no:18S9099)Quote job refJN-042025-6709102Phone number+65 6416 9872Job summaryFunctionLegalSpecialisationSenior Legal CounselWhat is your area of specialisation?Energy & Natural ResourcesLocationSingaporeContract TypePermanentConsultant nameCeleste Goh (Lic No: R1104095 / EA no:18S9099)Consultant contact+65 6416 9872Job ReferenceJN-042025-6709102Work from HomeWork from Home or Hybrid
